Guys… I am going to give you the 5 biggest intermittent fasting mistakes you can make, so make sure to avoid these things. Intermittent fasting is extremely popular, and has a lot of great benefits.

However, there is not a ONE SIZE FITS ALL approach. This is the first mistake a lot of people make. We are all built differently, so you might not be able to dive in 100% 7 days a week right away. We are all starting at a different point. There are different kinds of intermittent fasting, so it does not necessarily need to be done every day.

My personal preference when I do intermittent fasting is the 16/8 split. With this type of intermittent fasting you have an 8 hour window to eat, and then you fast for 16 hours.

Another mistake people make is YOU DON’T EAT ENOUGH. If you are doing resistance training, you need more than just your base amount of calories. You still want to eat at a caloric deficit, but eating too little can still be a problem.

The next mistake is people EAT TOO MUCH. Especially when doing the 16/8 split. You get to have 3 meals and they aren’t aware of what they are eating. The mindset is I have fasted for 16 hours, I get to eat what I want. You still want to focus on what you are eating when you are fasting.

The next thing you should avoid is EATING THE WRONG KINDS OF FOOD. Eating donuts, processed foods, etc. offset the benefits of the fasting. Another great benefit of fasting aside from weight loss, is the health benefits.

The last mistake is DON’T FORCE IT. Intermittent fasting is not meant for everybody. That has to do with your job, your daily habits, and activity levels. Intermittent fasting is great with sedentary lifestyles. On the flipside, you have people with construction jobs or high activity jobs where they need a lot of fuel for their work.

When you try intermittent fasting, try out the different types of fasting. See which one works best for you and your lifestyle. Listen to your body when you are fasting. You want to exercise when fasting because that will help you burn more fat.

As you get older, it is very important to do things optimally. If you feel that you don’t have much energy then you need to have more calories to fuel your body.
