Are you a man over 50 that wants to get stronger? Don’t worry, it is possible to build muscle after 50! Getting stronger means you will have to do resistance training. Eating right is also a huge key factor in gaining strength at any age. Nutrition is not always about losing fat because you need to eat a certain way to build muscle. You need to make sure you are eating enough protein to help your body repair the muscles and grow bigger.
Soreness is a real thing, especially when you are having intense workouts and building up lactic acid in your muscles. Sometimes the soreness doesn’t kick in until a couple days after the workout. If you are not sore then you probably didn’t push yourself hard enough on the previous day. Soreness is good because it means you are really working your muscles. Just make sure to know the difference between a good workout, and a workout where you push yourself too hard.
