Warm up routine for men over 40 – Hey guys, in this video tutorial with a warm up routine for men after 40, Chris and I are going to go through mobility exercises for men over 40. As we get older, we tend to develop some knee issues and mobility issues with our hips and shoulders. So, let’s get working with Chris in this video tutorial with a warm up exercise routine for men over 40.

We start off with a general hip warm up, a lot of times when we injure our knees, it stems from not using our hips correctly. The more you warm up your hips, the less chance you will have of injuring your knees, so a very important workout warm up for men over 40. If you have a lot of inflammation in your knee, you will find that the general hip warm up will actually help to reduce that inflammation. So, let’s get started with a series of hip activations with these warm up exercises before workout for men over 40.

The first warm up exercise is going to be 2 different versions, one with a pause and one with a reflex(quickly). Make sure to lock your core in and don’t rotate because we want to focus on warming up the hips specifically in this exercise. So you do 3 reps of bring your knee up to the side, and do them slowly then you are going to do 3 fast reos bringing your knees up to the side. The next part of this warm up routine for men over 40 is the same thing, but straighten your leg out this time instead of having it bent. For the next part in this warm up routine for men after 40, you want to now bring your leg back. And then lift it straight up for 3 slow reps then 3 fast reps. These are great mobility exercises for men over 40 for your hips, which in turn help to protect you from injuring your knee in your workouts. So, those are exercises Chris and I just did were without resistance. Now, we are going to add resistance in these warm up exercises before workout for men over 40.

This is a kind of long warm up routine for men after 40, but it is going to get to the point where you have more mobility and it will end up being less painful the more you do it. The first resistance exercise, you are going to put the band around your legs, right above your kneecaps. It’s going to be a monster walk, get in an athletic position and walk 10 yards up and then 10 yards back in this warm up exercise routine for men over 40. After you go front and back, you are going to go from side to side. When doing these mobility exercises for men over 40, your goal should be able to increase your stretch a little bit every time. After doing these warm ups for men over 40, you’ll start to see how much better your workouts are because you have more mobility. Another important area to focus on when doing a workout warm up for men over 40 is the hip flexor. When you’re doing these exercises keep pushing to yourself and thinking about pushing that range just a little bit farther. Doing this, you’ll be surprised how much flexibility and mobility you start to develop. Having healthy hips is important, and these warm up exercises before workout for men over 40 will help you with that.

Now doing this warm up routine for men over 40, it is good to do 2 rounds of each exercise. The first round is like getting rust off, so that during the second round you can increase that range just a little bit more. You don’t want to just be going through the motions, you want to push yourself to extend that range in your stretches. There are so many different stretches that you can do that target different areas of your body, your hips, ankles, groins, etc. This can even be a workout, it creates activation, mobilization, and stabilization. There are a lot of different shoulder warm ups for men over 40, so we will show you a couple good ones that you can do. The first is going to be wall slides. You want to try and hit five points of contact. The lower back, elbows, shoulders, wrists, and neck. You are definitely going to feel it during this exercise to help with the activation of your shoulders. The next exercise, while maintaining the 5 points of contact is to slide your hands up the wall.

This is a great workout warm up for men over 40, I encourage you to give this a try before you go into your next workout.
