Are you a man over 40 that is trying to lose weight? Well stick around, and I am going to tell you the 5 worst mistakes men over 40 make when trying to lose weight. Let’s get started!
The first mistake that people might tend to make first is you’re NOT SETTING REALISTIC GOALS. You have a great attitude and so much enthusiasm when you start that your goals are way too unrealistic. What happens when you do that is you don’t get the results and you want to give up.
The next mistake, which I know can be kind of boring, is NOT WARMING UP. Warming up is especially important as you get older. You need to figure out what works best for you, but warming up and stretching will be so beneficial for your workouts.
Something you need to focus on next is your NUTRITION. As we get older, our testosterone levels are much more important to our fitness than if we were in our 20’s. Yes, you want to cut out calories, especially sugar. However, if you go overboard and cut all the fats out of your diet, then you are going to do more harm than good. You need to make sure to have balanced nutrition to produce more testosterone, and reach your goals that you set.
The next mistake that people tend to make is NOT WEIGHT TRAINING. As we get older, we start to lose muscle mass. Having less muscle mass means that you will burn less calories throughout the day. That will also lower your metabolism. Strength training will help you burn more calories, increase your metabolism, and help make your bones stronger.
The last mistake people tend to make is YOU DON’T FOLLOW A PLAN. You need to have a plan for your weight loss journey. Workout plans and meals plans are what you need to see your progress when you are trying to lose weight and build muscle.
