It may seem crazy..but it is possible to burn calories and burn fat while you sleep. That sounds pretty nice, since you aren’t needing to do anything. Your BASAL METABOLIC RATE is the amount of calories you burn while your body is at rest. If you are getting around 8 hours of sleep a night, you are probably burning around 400-600 calories a night, while you are sleeping. That sounds amazing, and it is good…but you can make it even better with some of these tips.

So, how do we increase our basal metabolic rate? When you put on a lot of body fat, your metabolism slows down. Here is how you increase your BASAL METABOLIC RATE to help you burn more fat and calories while you sleep.

Tip #1: LOSING BODY FAT. You need to exercise, especially trying to add resistance training will help you burn more fat when your body is at rest. If you haven’t been doing any kind of exercise, just incorporate this a few times a week to start, and you are going to see a big difference. It will also help you sleep because it is going to make you tired when you go to bed.

Tip #2: GET MORE DEEP SLEEP/REM SLEEP. Avoiding alcohol and eating late at night will help you get better sleep, which will help you reach REM sleep.
