Guys… 2020 has been far from normal, but that is okay. Today I am going to give you 5 tips to help you get back in shape after not working out for a long time.

Tip #1: GET YOUR MIND RIGHT. It is hard to start because of what your head is telling you. You need to ask yourself, why do you need to get back in shape in the first place? It is okay to admit, but you don’t want to let your ego get in the way. Everyone has different reasons for wanting to get back in shape, and at the end of the day it is important to take that first step to starting your journey.

Tip #2: THIS IS NOT A SPRINT. Getting back in shape is a marathon. Set realistic goals because the results are not going to come right away. Be patient and don’t beat yourselves up if you miss a workout or cheat on your nutrition every now and then. It happens! Just don’t give up! There will be a lot of setbacks and there will be a lot of successes.

Tip #3: TELL THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU. You can use your friends and family to keep you accountable in your journey to get back in shape. This may be harder, but if you can find a friend that also wants to get back in shape, that will be huge. Pushing each other for results is going to help motivate you and help keep you accountable.

Tip #4: REST & RECOVERY. This takes a little bit longer as we age, so you need to make sure to listen to your bodys. Sleep is very important, and it can be harder to get good quality sleep. It is important to try and get at least 8 hours of sleep a night.
