Pushups are for everyone, whether you are in great shape or you struggle to do them. There are ways to make pushups easier or harder, depending on your fitness level. So this video is for everyone, as I am going to give 3 ways to make pushups easier and 3 ways to make pushups harder for you advanced guys.

If you are out of shape and have a lot of fat, especially belly fat, pushups can be difficult for you. So, how can we make them a little easier so that you are able to do them? The goal is to make it so you can do them, but also to be able to improve and make progress. So, here are 3 ways you can make pushups easier.

Tip #1: KNEE PUSH-UP. This is one of the easiest ways to do a pushup. With this form, your knees are going to alleviate a lot of your upper body weight. Now, your chest and shoulders don’t have to lift as much weight. You want your hands to be a little bit wider than shoulder width apart.

Tip #2: HEAD-ELEVATED PUSH UPS. Same as knee push ups, we are trying to offload some of the weight from our chest and shoulders, and transfer it back to our knees or feet. The more elevated your hands are, the easier the push up is going to be. Have your feet on the ground, and your hands either on a table, couch, chair, wall, etc.

Tip #3: PUSH-UP “DROP SET”. Do good form, traditional style push ups, and do as many as you can. After that, go to head-elevated push ups until you can’t do any more. Lastly, you will then do knee push ups until you can’t do anymore. This goes from hard, to easier push ups each time.

Alright guys, now let’s talk about how to make pushups harder for you guys that need more of a challenge. You are in shape and don’t have a lot of extra body fat, this is for you. Here are 3 ways to make pushups harder.

Tip #1: SLOW TEMPO PUSH-UPS. Slowing down each rep is going to make this a lot more difficult, making it more effective because there is more time under tension. The fatigue is going to kick in a lot quicker when you do it like this.

Tip #2: FEET-ELEVATED PUSH-UPS. Opposite of the beginner, this means you are transferring more weight from your legs to your shoulder, chest, and arms. The higher your feet are elevated, the tougher this is going to be.

Tip #3: CHANGING YOUR HAND POSITION. You can switch to a wide-grip pushup position, which will put more emphasis on your chest and a little less on your arms. If you bring your hands closer together, that is going to work your arms a little more. Just by switching where your hands are, you are going to feel much more difficulty doing the pushups.
