Testosterone is the key hormone for men.. It helps you build muscle, maintain energy, feel confident, and even helps to burn body fat. That is why it is crucial to keep your testosterone levels high, especially for older guys. That is why I am going to show you the 5 worst testosterone killers to avoid, and what to do about it with some simple changes. With that said, let’s go over the 5 testosterone killers that you need to avoid.

#1: STRESS. When you are stressed, cortisol levels go up and your testosterone levels go down. Once your body senses stress, it doesn’t care about producing testosterone. Instead, it produces cortisol, which is a fight or flight hormone. You can’t avoid stress altogether, but don’t let it take control of you.

#2: BELLY FAT. Having a lot of belly fat produces estrogen, and again when these levels increase..testosterone levels decrease. Having higher estrogen levels also causes your body to store more body fat on your belly and chest. Try exercising and using supplements to get rid of your belly fat, and overall body fat.

#3: POOR SLEEP. For every hour of good sleep you miss under 7 hours, your body is not producing testosterone. Not only does getting good quality sleep help with testosterone levels, it also will help you have more energy for the day.

#4: CUTTING OUT FOOD GROUPS. You need to have proteins, carbs, and healthy fats in your diet to produce testosterone. If you cut one of these out of your daily food intake, it is going to affect your hormone production. You can utilize carb-cycling to help with optimizing your hormone production, while still eating all 3 food groups.

#5: LONG WORKOUTS. You do not need to spend more than an hour in the gym every day. This will increase your cortisol levels. Intensity is key in the gym, so aim for 45 minute workouts about 5 times a week.
