Now, I know a lot of you out there like to drink beer when you’re with the guys. Well you still need to have some fun, so I am going to tell you how to ditch the beer gut without giving up beer. Now, how can you avoid the infamous beer belly without giving up the alcohol? One of the issues of alcohol is that it disrupts protein synthesis in your body. So, if you have too much alcohol on a regular basis, it will hurt your body’s ability to repair and rebuild the muscles that you are working so hard on. Now, here are the 5 tips to help you get rid of the beer belly, without giving up the beer.
Tip #1: SAVE IT FOR OCCASIONS. I am not talking about just the holidays. I am saying try to avoid drinking alcohol every day or every night. Save it for when you are hanging with buddies, and if you go out often limit how much you are drinking.
Tip #2: TRY HIIT CARDIO. When trying to lose weight, it is good to switch up your workouts. High Intensity Interval Training is far more efficient for burning calories than steady state cardio or just the typical weight training. With HIIT, you are going to burn more calories throughout the day, even after your workouts.
Tip #3: MAKE SMARTER FOOD CHOICES. Try to avoid sugar as much as you can, especially the processed sugars. If you have a sweet tooth, try getting light greek yogurt, which is sweet and low in sugar and high in protein. Give it a shot the next time you are thinking about a donut or ice cream. You can also have sugar free popsicles instead. Also, try to avoid sodas or drinks with artificial coloring.
