If you are a man over 50, you need to stop doing these exercises in your workouts… It may not seem like horrible exercises, but the risk of injury just isn’t worth it when there are other exercises that can get you the same if not better results.

As you get older, there are certain exercises that you just shouldn’t do anymore. 1 reason being it isn’t as productive as it used to be and 2, you are more likely to injure yourself than when you were younger.

AND it has nothing to do with how good of shape you are in. You can be super fit, and still injure yourself doing some of these exercises.

Here are the 4 shocking exercises to stop doing, if you are a man over 50:

Exercise #1: Standing Barbell Shoulder Press (These are a killer on your lower back. Even if you have a strong core, a tweaked back is bound to happen sooner than later doing this exercise.)

Exercise #2: Deadlift. Just very little “bang for your buck”. It’s the easiest way to blow out a disk in your back, and it is hard to define exactly what muscle groups are targeted. Even young guys should skip this exercise.

Exercise #3: Static Planks (There are so many better ways to work your core).

Exercise #4: Box Jumps – these are really tough on your knees, and you can also trip on the box and fall on your face!

Here are some alternative exercises to do instead:

Exercise #1: Seated Dumbbell Shoulder Press
Exercise #2: Romanian Deadlifts
Exercise #3: Bicycle Cross Crunches
Exercise #4: Step Ups.
